Congress Gains Momentum as Workers Rally Behind Patna Sahib Candidate






Patna, April 28, 2024

The Grand Alliance's decisive victory in the Lok Sabha election appears imminent following the second phase of voting. This clarity emerged as Bihar Congress President, Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh, addressed a workers' conference held at the party headquarters, Sadaquat Ashram, on Sunday. The event, hosted by the Patna District Congress Committee, aimed to garner support for the Patna Sahib candidate, Anshul Abhijeet, son of former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.

Dr. Singh emphasized that the electorate has recognized Prime Minister Modi's alleged agenda to alter the Constitution, framing this election as a choice between the public and the BJP. He urged party workers to dedicate themselves to the electoral cause. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, the legislature party leader, advocated for elucidating the advantages of Congress' pledges to the electorate.

Expressing his resolve to champion the Congress flag in Patna Sahib, Anshul Abhijeet voiced confidence in securing victory over the BJP in the constituency.

During the workers' conference, several individuals, including Pappu Kumar, vice president of BJP's Kisan Morcha, defected from the BJP to join the Congress. The state president formally inducted them into the party.

Among the attendees were notable figures such as Congress Legislative Party leader Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Legislative Council member  Premchandra Mishra, as well as other party members including Shyam Sundar Singh Dheeraj, Nirmal Verma, Brajesh Pandey, Rajesh Rathod, Lal Babu Lal, Shashi Ranjan, Ambuj Kishore Jha, Praveen Singh Kushwaha, Sharvat Jahan Fatima, Alok Harsh, Umesh Kumar Ram, Vaidyanath Sharma, Vinod Yadav, Kumar Ashish, Ashfar Ahmed, Ashutosh Sharma, Parvez Ahmed, Sharif Rangrez, Manoj Mehta, Nidhi Pandey, Rajeev Mehta, Nishant Karpatne, among others.
