Dawn to dusk Bihar bandh call given by CPI-ML (Liberation) to protest the death of people belonging to Dalit community due to consumption of spurious liquor evoked partial response in the state on December 15, 2012. Movement of rail and road traffic was partially affected due to bandh. In Patna CPI-ML(Liberation) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya led a procession of the party workers demanding total prohibition and CBI probe into the alleged Rs 6000 crore MNREGA scam. Bhattacharya along with party workers were detained and later released by the police.
