Encroachments on Badshahi canal will be removed soon


Patna: District administration will remove encroachments from 45 places on the Badshahi canal, which was once one of the bests drain of the state capital to drain out excess rain water in the monsoon season.

In a review meeting with Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishor on chair, it was decided to give a new leash of life to Badshahi canal by removing encroachments and illegal construction on  both the sides of the canal.

Kishor had identified 22 places of encroachments in Phulwari block in which interim orders have been passed in 17 cases.

The hearing of 5 cases will be held on May 9.

In Sampatchak block, 12 places of encroachments have been identified while in Patna Sadar, 11 places of encroachments have been detected.

The hearing of all these cases will be held on May 11.

Kishor said the encroachments would be removed on priority basis.

NMCH emergency ward to have 100 beds soon




Patna, April 21, 2017: Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) will soon have 100-bed emergency ward instead of 30 beds at present.

A meeting of the NMCH Patients Welfare Committee was held on Friday with Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishor on chair to discuss the development plan of the hospital.

Kishor said the hospital authorities and concerned department have been directed to this regard.

He said there would be 25 tables in the labour room and 50 additional beds would be created in the post operative ward. At present there are only eight beds in the labour room.

He said the Bihar Medical Services and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL has been asked to complete all formalities by May 15 and start construction by the end of May.

BMSICL has also been directed to arrange endoscopy machine in the NMCH by June 15.

Among the other issues taken up in the meeting were immediate appointments of lab technician, dresser, X-ray technician, OT assistant, ECG technician and dialysis technician on contract basis.

Kishor also asked the hospital management to earmark the approved vacant posts and publish advertisement to fill up the vacancies. “The posts which are not approved, tender it for outsourcing agency through proper advertisement”, he said.

The meeting has also approved the posts for one bio-medical engineer and one mechanic for the hospital.

The Patients Welfare Committee has also granted a sum of Rs 40000 per month to emergency department of the hospital for providing medical aid and medicines to poor and helpless patients.

SK Memorial Hall all set to have new aesthetic look



Patna, April 20, 2017: Sri Krishna Memorial Hall is all set to have a new look in the coming days as administrative body of Sri Krishna Memorial Development Committee has given its nod to certain proposals for face-lift of the hall.

Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishor said that renovation work of the SK Memorial Hall would be undertaken soon to uplift the amenities prevailing there in a modern and standard form.

He said the hall would be fully equipped with CCTV cameras and new tiles would be fitted in and outside hall to give it a new look. “Paintings of the entire hall will be done in a new design with proper aesthetic sense”, he said.

Patna district magistrate Sanjay Kumar and other officers of the district administration were present in the Sri Krishna Memorial Development Committee meeting.

Kishor said there would be a separate agency for food supply in the hall. “There will be high mast light at the two gates and additional toilets will be constructed in the premises of the SKM Hall”, he said.

“An emergency exit gate will also be constructed in the campus”, he added.

He said parking of the buses would not be allowed in front of the SKM Hall campus.

Going into the development plan of the historic Gandhi Maidan, Kishor said a food zone would be created inside Gandhi Maidan where vendors could put up their stalls.

He said there would no bamboo stands for Republic Day and Independence Day function in Gandhi Maidan. “From now onward, the stands will be staircase type pre-fab structure”, he said.


He said three high masts light would also be installed in three places of the Gandhi Maidan.
