Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal launches NTPC's Barh stage II






 

Union Minister for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal launched the 660 MW unit stage II of Barh Super Critical Thermal Power Plant in Barh on November 15, 2014. Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ram Kripal Yadac, Radha Mohan Singh and Dharmendra Pradhan were present on the occasion.

NTPC Barh project to start production in 2013

Regional Executive Director, Eastern Region-I of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Umesh Chandra Pani said the ongoing thermal power plants in Bihar (Kanti, Barh and Nabinagar) would start generating electricity in next couple of years. Pani was addressing a press conference in Patna on April 30, 2010.
He said the first phase of Barh project (1980 MW) was expected to commence production in 2013.

Bihar to add 2500 MW of power by 2012

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) chairman-cum-managing director RS Sharma felicitates Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on July 10, 2009.

The Bihar Chief Minister had a review meeting with the NTPC chairman over the ongoing power project in Bihar. The NTPC is working on 8650 MW power projects, involving an investment of Rs 40,000 crore in Bihar. It is expected that by 2011-12 Bihar will have a capacity addition of 2500 MW in a phase-wise manner.
