Chhattisgarh to implement phase-wise prohibition

Patna, April 11, 2017: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday called on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at the latter's official residence here. Kumar felicitated Singh by presenting him a bouquet and memento during the interaction.

Later, Raman Singh said Chhattisgarh was heading towards prohibition. "We have already decided to implement phase-wise prohibition in Chhattisgarh. Government will no allow liquor sale in areas having a population up to 3000," he said.

Bihar imposes ban on liquor from April 1, 2016

Bihar Chief Miister Nitish Kumar announced total prohibition on the sale and purchase of liquor effective from April 1, 2016. This was announced in a function that was organised to mark Prohibition Day in Patna on November 26, 2015. This also marked the fulfillment of his one of the pre-election promises.
