Bihar CM Nitish Kumar opposes Seeds Bill

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticised the proposed Seeds Bill terming it as ‘anti-farmer’ and appealed to all political parties to jointly oppose it in Parliament as it would make the country's farmers slaves of MNCs.

The Bihar Chief Minister was addressing a meeting organized by Janata Dal (United) Farmers Cell at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on June 9, 2011. Bihar JD(U) president Vashishta Narayan Singh and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Seminar on proposed Seeds Bill held in Patna

A seminar on the proposed Seeds Bill was held in Patna on April 29, 2011. Dr PN Jha, former vice-chancellor of Rajendra Agriculture University delivered the keynote address. Former Bihar Chief Minister Dr Jagnnath Mishra presided over the seminar.
