All India Students Association (AISA) actvists blocked roads and disrupted the movements of traffic on Ashok Rajpath in Patna on July 8, 2010 to draw the attention of the Bihar government on the ongoing strike of the teaching and non-teaching employees of different Bihar universities and colleges. 
Teaching and non-teaching employees of different colleges staged dharna and demonstrations in Patna on July 8, 2010 in support of their demands. Non-teaching employees went on indefinite strike for the past couple of days while university and college teachers struck work from July 8 forcing the universities and colleges functioning to a standstill in Bihar.

Patna University teachers and employees staged demonstration at Science College and BN College gates in Patna on July 1, 2010 in support of their demands. They were demanding implementation of 6th Pay Commission report. They also threatened to go on indefinite strike from July 8. Earlier, Bihar Government had announced revised pay for university teachers and employees.
