Patna erupts in joy and ecstasy after India's Cricket World Cup win
















Patna erupted in euphoria on April 2, 2011, night as India won the cricket World Cup beating Sri Lanka in a thrilling final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.Honking horns, fans spilled into streets on motorcycles and cars flaunting the tricolour soon after captain M S Dhoni hit the winning runs. As India came within sniffing distance of a win, people had already started bursting crackers. The night sky was illuminated with fire crackers as cricket fans gathered at the Dak Bungalow round-about to express the joy and ecstasy on Mahendera Singh Dhoni’s men World Cup win after a gap of 28 years.

Cricket frenzy touches its zenith









Delirious scenes were witnessed across Patna on April 2, 2011, as the city's cricket-crazy crowd went wild in widespread celebration right from the start of the Cricket World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka in Mumbai. Fans glued to the TV sets wearing Team India's jersey, waving tricolours, holding placards and posters to wish India's victory.

Cricket fever touched its peak for the Mumbai final of Cricket World Cup between India and Sri Lanka in Patna on April 1, 2011. Cricket fans from all sections of the society geared up to celebrate the moment in their own styles. Like other cities of India, the mood in the Capital of Bihar was electrifying. They all wished and prayed for Team India to take the coveted cup after a gap of 28 years.

Patna celebrates India's victory over Pakistan in Cricket World Cup semifinal







The night sky was illuminated with fire crackers as cricket fans in Patna danced holding tricolours, frantically honked vehicles and shouted slogans to celebrate India's victory over Pakistan in the World Cup semifinal on March 30, 2011. Fans burst crackers and danced to the tune of drums and distributed sweets.
