CRPF Bihar sends relief material for Nepal quake victims



Patna, May 6, 2015: Bihar Sector, CRPF sent its first contingent of one full truck load containing earth quake relief  material for distribution among earth quake victims in village Jheerghari of Nepal. The vehicle was flagged off by Arun Kumar, IPS, IGP Bihar Sector, CRPF from its Patna based Hqr. The relief material contained food packets, waters and other essentials including tarpauline for providing shelter, who have become homeless after the devastating earth quake, which shattered almost whole of Nepal April 25.

The relief material will be distributed in the village Jheeghari, Distt- Makwanpur, Narayani Anchal of Nepal, where a total of 55 families  were residing and out of which homes of 33 families have been completely destroyed and became homeless during earth quake. The distribution is being done through Indian Consulate at Birgunj (Nepal) through CRPF Commandant Sh. Karma Bhutia, CRPF Nodal officer stationed  at Raxual.

Bihar units of CRPF has undertaken this humanitarian work of providing  assistances to the needy through voluntary contribution made by CRPF personnel from Bihar and other parts of the country. Earlier they have also set up a medical camp at Raxaul w.e.f. 30/04/2015, which remained functional for three days. One special platoon of CRPF was pressed into service for traffic management and providing of assistance to earth quake victims reaching Indian territory since April 30.

Relief materials are also being collected from various CRPF formations out side the state at Nodal Group Centre, Muzaffarpur and the next consignment of relief materials will be sent again in a couple of days.
