Bihar Government to protect 29 more archeological spots

Bihar’s Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Renu Devi while addressing a press conference in Patna on May 13, 2010, said the state government had decided to increase the Art and Culture Department Budget this year. She said about Rs 85 crore would be spent this year and 29 more archeological spots would come under government’s conservation scheme.

Seminar on "Archaeological remains of Patna and Nalanda districts" held

Bihar Government's Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Department organised a seminar on "Archaeological remains of Patna and Nalanda districts" in Patna on March 29, 2010. Bihar Government's Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Department minister Renu Devi and its secretary Vivek K Singh participated in the seminar.
Dr SK Manjul, Superintending Archaeologist of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) said a large number of Mauryan-age monuments and heritage sites are buried under the thick habitations of Patna.
