Kisan Mela begins in Patna

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated five-day Kisan Mela (Farmers Fair) at Veterinary College ground in Patna on March 4, 2011. Bihar Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh and Bihar Government Agriculture Department Commissioner AK Sinha were present on the occasion.

The fair showcased different types of latest high-tech farming equipments manufactured by Indian companies. A Farmers School has also been functioning in the fair to impart the latest techniques of agriculture to the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced to form an Agriculture Cabinet Committee to solve the problems of agriculture sector.

Bihar farmers to get cheap loans

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi inaugurated Kisan Mela (Farmers Fair) in Patna on May 24, 2010. Bihar Agriculture Minister Renu Kumari was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi said Bihar government had decided to charge 4 per cent interest instead of 7 per cent from farmers on agriculture loans. The scheme had come into effect from April 1, 2010.

Kisan Mela begins

Bihar Agriculture Minister Ranu Kumari inaugurated Kisan Mela (Farmers Fair) in Patna on November 1, 2009.

Different companies, institutes, banks and other organizations set up stalls in the fair to sell their products that included hybrid seeds, fertilizers on discount and other farming related equipments.
