The 150th birth anniversary of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in Patna on December 25, 2011. Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Tara Kant Jha, Bihar Health Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Bihar HRD Minister PK Shahi, former Bihar Chief Minister Dr Jagnnath Mishra participated in a function that was organised at SK Memorial Hall to pay tributes to great son of India.

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya conbined to himself the orthodoxy of a Brahmin and a unquenchable thrust of a freedom-fighter. A tireless compainer, he brought large section of his countrymen into the national struggle. The Banaras Hindu University, founded in 1916, is his visible symbol of his devotion to education. He who has neither pride nor desire, he is Mad(na) Moh(na) Madan Mohan.
