Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated five-day Kisan Mela (Farmers Fair) at Veterinary College ground in Patna on March 4, 2011. Bihar Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh and Bihar Government Agriculture Department Commissioner AK Sinha were present on the occasion.The fair showcased different types of latest high-tech farming equipments manufactured by Indian companies. A Farmers School has also been functioning in the fair to impart the latest techniques of agriculture to the farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced to form an Agriculture Cabinet Committee to solve the problems of agriculture sector.
