Archaeological Survey of India turns 150


Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar inaugurated the 150th anniversary celebration function of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Patna on January 28, 2012. Bihar Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Sukhda Pandey was present on the occasion. Konwar also released a special cover of India Post depicting six famous monuments of India. They were Ashokan capital at Kolhua in Vaishali, Dhamekh Stupa at Sarnath, Jain temple at Some Bhandar at Rajgir, Mundeshwari temple at Bhabua, Cornwallis tomb at Ghazipur and Ser Shah Suri's tomb at Rohtas.
