Junior Doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) went on lightning strike from midnight of January 30, 2011 in protest against the incident of firing on junior doctors of Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital by the bodyguard of RJD MLA from Belaganj Dr Surebdra Prasad Yadav. Three medicos were injured in the incident. Following the incident, junior doctors of ANMMCH, PMCH and other medical colleges of Bihar went on strike demanding arrest of the MLA and his bodyguard.Following the strike, PMCH wore a deserted look causing hardship to indoor patients. Security, however, was put on high alert on the campus.
