Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave away several awards including Decadal Litracy Awards to teachers and students on the concluding day of the Shiksha Diwas (Education Day) function at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 13, 2011. Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Choudhary, Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Tara Kant Jha and Bihar HRD Minister PK Shahi were present on the occasion. Assistant teachers Rampari Devi (Araria), Yasmeen Bano (Banka) and Pushpa Kumari (Nawada) were awarded Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Shiksha Purskar jointly. The award carries chash prize of Rs 66,600.
The Chief Minister also released a souvenir "Aryabhatta" on the occasion.
