Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said she would take up the matter of according Central university status to Patna University with the centre.Meira Kumar was addressing the convocation ceremony of Patna University on December 23, 2009.
On the occasion, as many as 59 students of 2007-08 batches were awarded gold medals.
Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar, who is also the chancellor of the university, presided over the function. Bihar Human Resource Development Minister Hari Narayan Singh was present at the function.This was the second convocation in a year for Patna University.
