Bihar Government signed MoU with three private insurance companies to provide insurance cover to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families under Rashtriya Swasth Bima Yojana (RSBY) in Patna on December 1, 2009. Under the scheme, the Union Government will provide 75 per cent of funds while the state government will contribute 25 per cent.
Bihar Labour Resource Minister Awadhesh Narayan Singh and Labour secretary Vyas Ji were present on the occasion.
The companies entrusted with the jobs are ICICI Lombard (11 districts), Royal Sundaram ( 8 districts) and Chola Mandalam (3 districts).
