Professor Shailendra Kumar Srivastava, retired professor of physics from BBA Bihar University was the joint winner of the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Shiksha Award instituted by Bihar Government in 2007. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi gave away the award at a function in Patna on November 11, 2012. Bihar Education Minister KP Shahi, Principal Secretary, Department of Education, Amarjeet Sinha and Bihar Education Project Director Rahul Singh were present on the occasion. Professor Shyam Sharma, retired Principal of the College of Arts and Crafts was the other winner of the award.
