Bharat Bandh throws normal life out of gear in Patna













Normal life was hit badly in Patna on July 5, 2010 due to the Bharat Bandh called by NDA and Left parties to protest the fuel price hike.
About 3,500 Bandh supporters including senior leaders of the BJP, JD(U) and Left parties were taken into preventive custody from different parts of Bihar.
Private buses and those of the Bihar State Transport Corporation were off the roads and all schools, colleges and educational institutions remained closed in Patna.
Shops and business establishments too remained closed.
Bandh supporters also disrupted the railway services.
The dawn to dusk Bandh also evoked good response from Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Biharsharif, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Motihari, Bettia, Siwan, Gopalganj, Chapra, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Khagaria and Katihar.
