CPI-ML (Liberation) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya demanded that the Centre should bring out a white paper on the railway accidents in India.
Dipankar Bhattacharya was talking to reporters in Patna on July 20, 2010.
He said that the safety had become "an important question" for Indian railways.
He also demanded immediate resignation of Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee owing moral responsibility for the accident.
Sixty six people were killed and many injured in a collision between Uttarbanga Express and Vananchal Express that took place at Sainthia station in Birbhum district of West Bengal on July 19, 2010.
