Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee held deliberations with PSU bank chiefs in Patna on June 14, 2010 on the prevailing tight liquidity condition, financial inclusion and farm credit.Besides the bank chiefs, the meeting was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the chief ministers of all Eastern and Northeastern states.
The meeting assumed importance as it was held in the light of the prevailing tight liquidity situation in the country.
It discussed the progress of Centrally-sponsored schemes, state-wise flow of credit to the agriculture sector, credit-deposit ratio and loan to weaker section of society among others.
