Opposition party members staged demonstration outside Bihar Legislative Council in Patna on July 19, 2011 in protest against the alleged BIADA land scam. They alleged that Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority had illegally allotted land worth crores of rupees to the wards, kith and kin of ministers, legislators, MPs and bureaucrats of Bihar. Later in the day Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) workers staged demonstration in protest against BIADA land scam on the Patna streets.

The land scam can be conclusively prooved if one examines the track record and available resources of allottees of land by BIADA at the time of allotment of land. Their bank record and balances will speak.Instead of advertising availability of cheap land for industrial development widely for attracting genuine industrialists/educationists,allotment was done in hush hush manner obviously to near and dear ones of bureaucrats and politicians. I know a case of favour by the then Principal Secretary of Industries department who helped allotment to his friend as a matter of quid pro quo.
