Basant Panchami marks the beginning of Holi
Basant Panchami or Saraswati Puja heralds the beginning of Holi, the festival of colours. Students of Magadh Mahila College celebrated Basant Panchami by applying dry colours (abeer) on the faces of each other in Patna on January 28, 2012. They also made "rangoli" to celebrate the Saraswati Puja.
