Power tariff goes up by 55 per cent in Bihar


Patna, March 24, 2017: Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the electricity tariff from April 1 next by an average 55 per cent. The tariff has been almost doubled in the below 100 units consumption slab for domestic consumers who now will have to pay Rs 5.75 per unit against Rs 3 earlier.
For 101 to 200 unit, consumers will have to pay Rs 6.50 per unit while from 201 to 300 units slabs, one will have to pay Rs 7.25 per unit. For above 300 units, the rate is Rs 8.00 per unit.
It's learnt that the state government has decided to give subsidy of 28 per cent to the consumers on new rates.
