Patna, June 10, 2022: Manik Shaurya of Chattisgarh won the men’s singles title of Dr AB Prasad Memorial All India Tennis Tournament defeating Vivek Kumar of Haryana in a three-set thriller 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 at Patliputra Tennis Centre here on Friday.
Abhinanshu Borthakur
and Md Fardeen (both from West Bengal) won
the doubles title beating Pratush Mohanty (Odisha) and Manik Shaurya (Chattisgarh) in an exciting
three-setter 6-4, 6-7(5) and 10-8.
In the men’s singles final, Vivek took the first set easily
at 6-4 but Manik bounced back and captured the second set at 6-4. Maintaining
his superb display, he pocketed the final set also at 6-4.

Patliputra, District Governor Elect), Anil Risolia (Rotary Patliputra,
President Elect), Chachan (Rotary Patliputra, District
Governor Designated Nominee), J P Todi
(Rotary Patliputra, President), Anjani Sinha (Rotary Patliputra, Secretary)
Santosh Banka (Rotary Patliputra, Treasurer ) Ashok Agrawal (Rotary Patliputra,
former President) and N K Agrawal (Rotary Patliputra, former President), Dr Nigam Prakash and P N Dwivedi gave away the trophies, prize money, certificates
and mementos to the participants and organisers.
Earlier, Ranjan
Shrivastava, welcomed the guests. Akhouri Bishwapriya briefed the guests about
the tournament and introduced them to the players.
Nirmal
Dwivedi, Satyendra, Rajan, Amlesh, Sunil, Neeraj, Sanoj, Aashish and Rahul were
present on the occasion. Kunal Aikat proposed a vote of thanks.
