Bihar Excise Minister Jamshed Ashraf, who had labelled allegations of a scam in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's office, was sacked on February 18, 2010."I was left with no other option but sacking Ashraf," Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said.

Earlier, Ashraf had handed over letters to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seeking his intervention to unearth a "possible big scam" involving his secretariat.
