





Speaking on the occasion, Ram Vilas Paswan said minorities would have to be brought into the mainstream to strengthen the country.
"If the country is to become a super power the socio-economic and political situations of the minorities, required to be improved," he said.
Paswan said LJP was playing the role of a catalyst to make policy makers incorporate necessary changes to help the Muslim community which share the "fate of Dalits in the development matrix".
He also demanded a separate 10 per cent quota for Muslims in government jobs. He also asked for evolving a mechanism to ensure that funds allocated for development of minorities were fully utilised.
The rally had been organised to give a message to the Muslims that LJP was "solidly" behind them and would fight for the improvement of their community. Among others who addressed the rally were LJP national vice-president Ahmad Ashfaque Karim, Dalit Sena chief Ramchandra Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras (MLA).
