Patna University vice-chancellor Professor Shyam Lal and former head of the PU geology department Dr RC Sinha jointly inaugurated an UGC sponsored national seminar on "Sustainable development of water resources in Indo-Gangetic plains: Challeges and constraints" at Science College in Patna on March 12, 2010.Speaking on the occasion PC Cahndra, regional director, Central Ground Water Board, expressed grave concern on fast declining water table of different acquifers in Bihar.
