Concern over growing number of diabetes patients in India

Bihar Chapter of IMA Academy of Medical Specialities organised a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on Diabetes at IMA Hall in Patna on November 14, 2010. Speaking on the occasion, several doctors expressed their concern over the growing number of diabetes patients in India. They stated that there were average 4 crore diabetes patients in India in 2007 while the figure rose to to 5 crores in 2010. And by the end of 2030, it is expected to touch 8.5 crores.
