Bihar Cabinet holds meeting on agriculture


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a cabinet meeting on agriculture to prepare a model at CM Secretariat in Patna on April 26, 2011.

The meeting first-ever in India of this kind was held to explore the ways for boosting the agrarian sector. “Bihar is the first state in the country to address the agriculture sector in such a big way with the setting up the specific cabinet on agriculture,” a senior official said.

Presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the cabinet meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, besides 17 other ministers of different departments, including water resources, irrigation, energy, rural works, sugarcane industry, animal husbandry and disaster management.
