Despite rains Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's Janata Darbar draws huge rush

Braving the rains, about 300 odd people gathered at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Janata Darbar in Patna on June 20, 2011. Kumar patiently listened to the grievances of the people and asked the concerned departments to take appropriate measures to solve the problems.

Later, talking to reporters the Chief Minister expressed concern at the increasing pollution of river Ganga and urged the Centre to provide more funds and delegate authority to the states to make the river pollution-free.

“The Centre should consider provision for more funds and delegation of authority to the states to work on measures to make the river pollution-free,” he said.

Replying to another question Nitish Kumar said he had urged the Centre to send a team of medical experts from New Delhi at the earliest to Bihar for prevention and diagnosis of the mystery disease that had claimed the lives of at least 22 children in the state.
