Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse Bihar Youth Congress workers, who took out rally to gherao Bihar Assembly, in Patna on December 8, 2011. The agitation was in support of the Bihar Youth Congress demands to reconsider Digha Land Acquisition Bill, order probe into corruption in the implementation of MNREGA scheme in different districts and CBI probe into the BIADA land allotment issue.
