Bihar Signs MoUs Worth ₹51,600 Crore to Accelerate Industrial Growth

 

Patna: The Bihar government on Thursday (August 6, 2026)  signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth nearly ₹51,600 crore with leading industrial groups to boost investment in steel, clean energy, textiles and manufacturing. The agreements were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary during a ceremony at Lok Sevak Awas.

The largest commitment came from Global Renewable Advanced Clean Energy Pvt Ltd (GRACE, which proposed an investment of ₹22,500 crore in the nuclear energy sector. Major investments were also announced by Shyam Steel Manufacturing Ltd, Shakambhari Ispat & Power Ltd, Nakshit Iron & Steel Pvt Ltd, Shri Langta Baba Metals & Power Ltd and Ankur Steel Pvt Ltd, reinforcing Bihar's ambition to emerge as a leading steel manufacturing hub. Additional investments were pledged in the textile and innovation sectors.

Addressing the gathering, Samrat Choudhary said the government would ensure that the investment proposals were implemented quickly to create industries and generate large-scale employment. He said Bihar would focus on promoting steel, textiles, clean and nuclear energy, food processing and pharmaceuticals through investor-friendly policies and improved infrastructure.

The Chief Minister also reviewed preparations for Bihar Business Connect 2026, saying the event would attract domestic and international investors under the theme, "Build and Believe in Bihar." He directed all departments to work in mission mode to ensure the MoUs are converted into projects without delay.
