Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) premises turned into battle field following a clash between Police and nursing students. Police arrested five nursing students and fired water canons to disperse the unruly mob. Nursing students were protesting the death of their fellow student for alleged utter medical neglect.
Nursing students and contractual nurses paralysed the PMCH functioning since Sunday evening. They intensified their agitation on Monday (September 7, 2009) hindering the normal functions of central emergency of the hospital for more than 20 hours.
