Patna, July 1, 2022: After a gap of two year due to Covid pandemic, the RathYatra of Lord Jagannath was taken out on Friday from Shri Radha Banke Bihari Ji Temple of ISKCON situated on Buddha Marg. here. The idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Baldev and Goddess Shubhdra were installed on a 40-foot high chariot that was decorated magnificently with flowers.
Thousands of devotees participated in the Rath Yatra and every one wanted to pull the rope of the chariot. The Rath Yatra started at 2 pm for the city tour. Several gates were set up to welcome devotees on the way. Prasad was also distributed and Maha Aarti was also performed.
There was a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees about the Rath Yatra this year. The Rath Yatra started from the ISKCON temple and it passed through Planetarium, Kotwali, Dak Bungalow Square, Gandhi Maidan, Exhibition Road and ended at Shri Radha Banke Bihari Ji Temple at Buddha Marg.
The whole atmosphere has become devotional due to the chanting of Hare Krishna Mahamantra by ISKCON devotees and huge crowd. The whole atmosphere is resonating with the chants of Jai Jagannath, Jai Baldev and Jai Subhadra.
ISKCON spokesperson Nand Gopal Das said that the chariot of
the Lord is 40 feet high and is made of hydraulic system. The chariot can be
raised and lowered up to 16 feet to protect it from electric wires.
