936 meritorious students felicitated

Set a new target for changing Bihar, Bihar CM tells students

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked the students to set a new target keeping in view the need of changing Bihar. He was addressing a function organised by a national Hindi daily Hindustan to felicitate students of the state who have cracked IIT-JEE or topped CBSE, CICSE and BSEB examinations..

“I salute these students, not only because they fared well in their respective examinations but also because they have within themselves the potential to do the state proud”, the Chief Minister said.

“There is no dearth of talent in Bihar, particularly the youths ... Bihar may be lagging behind the national average in many fields but in terms of talent and merit it ranks above national average," he said.
Kumar said the state government would launch 'Akshar Anchal' programme with an objective to make 40 lakh women literate within six months and Rs 53 crore would be spent on the project. The ambitious literacy project is set to kick start on August 9.
