After a long breather of seven months Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held his Janata Durbar in Patna on August 3, 2009. The issue in the Durbar was the grievances relating to lackadaisical attitude of the Bihar Police.

Bottom: Director General of Police Anand Shankar concentrating on some cases bigger in nature.
Later talking to newsmen, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said corruption had become a big hurdle in Bihar's progress.
He said the assets owned by public servants in the state disproportionate to their known sources of income would beconfiscated. "If the assets, owned by the state officials, are found to be disproportionate to his/ her known sources of income, these will be confiscated," he remarked.
