Two killed in Nawada bridge collapse

Two persons were killed and 31 others injured, when a 80-year-old road bridge on Sakri river collapsed near Kadirganj Bazaar in Bihar's Nawada district on August 25, 2009.

Two dumpers, a bullock-cart loaded with foodgrains and a van carrying passengers, besides a motorcyclist fell down as the bridge over Nawada-Jamui road caved in, killing two persons on the spot.

Three injured persons had been referred to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in critical conditions while others were being treated at a government hospital in Nawada.
The bridge was built in 1929.
