Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday (August 6, 2009) launched Aujar, an empowerment scheme for minority community girls in Patna. The scheme is an expansion of Hunar. The women have been trained under 'Hunar', a scheme launched by the Union HRD Ministry and the Bihar government which turned out to be a huge success in the state with over 13,000 of them joining the programme.
Under Aujar, all the girls who successfully completed Hunar training will get Rs 2500 each for purchasing toolkit for starting their own business. Bihar Chief Minister also announced to include girls from other deprived sections into the Hunar scheme.
