PMCH junior doctors strike enters second day

The indefinite strike by the junior doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) entered the second day on August 28, 2009.The junior doctors struck work on August 27, 2009 demanding introduction of salary system instead of giving them stipend.
Meanwhile, Bihar Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav described the strike as uncalled for and appealed to the junior doctors to resume work as the state government had in principle, agreed to increase their stipend from Rs 13,500 per month to Rs 25,000 per month.
