Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi participates at a National workshop on Implementing Revamped SJSRY, organised by Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation in Patna on August 28, 2009.Addressing the workshop Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi criticised Union Government’s methodology for computation of numbers of BPL families. He demanded that a commission should be constituted for the purpose which would fix the criteria to define the people living below the poverty line.
“Centre's criteria for computation below poverty line (BPL) families are not correct and it has many shortcomings which need to be given a re-look", he said.
