PMCH junior doctors call off strike

Junior doctors of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) withdrew their five-day old strike following a meeting with Bihar Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav in Patna on August 31, 2009.

The strike was called off after an assurance given by the Bihar Health Minister that government would raise the monthly stipend of junior doctors. The junior doctors were demanding salary instead of stipend.
