Lalu hits back at Gadkari

Enraged by the abusive language used against him by BJP president Nitin Gadkari, RJD president and former Union Minister Lalu Prasad hit back saying Gadkari had gone "mentally bankrupt" with the RJD chief asking him to hold his ears and apologise. Lalu Prasad was talking to media in Patna on May 13, 2010.

On May 12, 2010, in a meeting at Chandigarh BJP president Gadkari said, "Mulayam Singh or Lalu Prasad jo Congress aur UPA ke virodh ki baat karte hain,wo bhi jaakar CBI ke saamne jhuk gaye (Mulayam and Lalu who speak ofopposing Congress, have also knelt before CBI).

Gadkari went on to say, "unki (CBI) inquiry mein kahin vakil badla, kahin affidavit daakhil hua, bade dakarte the sher jaise par kuttejaise bankar, Soniaji or Congress ke ghar par talve chatne lage"(lawyers were changed, fresh affidavits submitted in CBI inquiryagainst them. These leaders were roaring like lions but later knelt like dogs to lick the feet of Sonia and the Congress).
However, the BJP president on May 13, 2010, sought to assuage the Yadav duo, saying theywere "respected leaders" and that he had only cited a proverb and notcalled them dogs as was being made out. "If my words have hurt them, Itake it back," he said.

"He called us dogs. He needlessly abused us. We will teach him a lesson.... He is a coward. We will first try give Gadkari tablets to cure his mental bankruptcy, then put him on capsules and if the tablets and capsules fail, we willput him on injection," Lalu said.
