Huge rush for Super-30 admission test

A record number of candidates turned up for admission test to 'Super-30', best coaching centre in Asia 2010 as rated by Time magazine, for 60 seats to crack IIT JEE in Patna on May 19, 2010.

In all 11,500 students from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh besides Bihar appeared in the test.

"Super-30 has a pass rate of 100 per cent. Whatmakes that feat even more remarkable is that these students are the poorest of the poor who would otherwise never be able to afford full-time coaching," the Time magazine which recently selected the institute among the best in Asia in 2010 had said.

The institute's founder Anand Kumar provides coaching along with hostel and travel to all students free of cost.

  1. Much ado about nothing.I always wonder and fail to understand what this fuss is all about?According to me Anand is doing nothing for the state or for the humanity what ever he is doing is for himself only.He is selecting30 sudents not belonging to the weaker section or poor family but those who are any how bright through out their carrer and have the ability to crack IIT even if they are left on some isolated island with their books only. And because of this Super30 fame he is earning not lakhs but crores without even paying income tax.Neither giving any donation nor supporting any student who is poor but not very bright, not even fee waiver. He only care of the cream, top 30 students to earn a name that he can encash. Most of student in his Super 30 can easily afford their education. If he makes a batch of 30 students who are realy poor and can not afford their studies and dont have a good academics through out and if he makes them crack IIT then only it's achievement.Geting selected in Super30 is something that a average student can not even think about in dreams, forget Super30 even if you want to take class in his normal batches you need to be better than average student.Selecting best of best from state and giving his name to them and geting the credit is not something I appreciate,he should better pick academicaly avergae students belonging to economicaly weaker section of the society, prepare them, help them and make them crack IIT,that is somthing I will really appreciate

  2. The efforts of Mr.Anand Kumar should be appreciated and I would say if any one has a sympathy for the poor of this country, should also contribute to the noble efforts of Mr.Kumar. The contents mentioned above show frustration which should be condemned.
