Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa was in Patna on July 7, 2010. The minister reviewed the progress of on going projects undertaken by East Central Railway.
Later, talking to scribes Muniyappa said Union Government was working on a comprehensive plan to contain Maoist attacks on railway properties.
"A comprehensive plan will be undertaken in consultation with the state governments to protect the railways, which the Maoists hold as soft-target," he said.
Muniyappa also urged the state government to come forward for cost-sharing of the delayed projects in Bihar.

The Railways have planned to spend Rs 790 crore for laying 86 km new rail line, broad gauge conversion in 28 km and doubling of rail line on 72 km during the current fiscal under the East Central Railway, he added.
