Thousands throng Bihar Pavillion



On the concluding day of India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the Bihar Pavillion attracted thousands of visitors who thronged the stalls to buy products of their choice. Long queue of visitors was witnessed at the main gate of Bihar Pavillion. The stalls of handlooms, handicrafts, bangles made of lacs and Madhubani painting witnessed huge customers queuing up to buy products. Visitors also enjoyed Litchi, guava and mango juice on their way out.

Sudha Dairy stall attracts visitors in Bhar Pavillion at IITF 09

The stall of Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation, popularly known as Sudha Dairy in Bihar pavilion at India International Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi attracted national and international visitors. The stall displays the success story of the white revolution brought in Bihar through a network of co-operative milk societies.
Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation achieved a land mark to spread its networks in Jharkhand, UP, Delhi and West Bengal. Sudha dairy stall in pavilion has put on display its milk and other products. It convinces visitors about their products and to invest for establishing Sudha plants.
Mr. Rajiv Kumar in-charge of Sudha stall said that thousands of visitors quarried every day about their products and Sudha Dairy. “We have received more than 50 proposals from visitors,” he added.

5 held with sophisticated weapons in Bihar

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Task Force of Bihar Police raided a place in Bakhtiarpur town, about 70 km from Patna, and arrested the persons. An AK-47, two magazines, five hand grenades and several live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

Nitish-led NDA government completes four years


A state function was organized in Patna on November 24, 2009 to celebrate the occasion.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released a report card of his government in the last four years.
Highlighting the achievements, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that his government had made Bihar preferred destination for investors.
“Restoration of rule of law, decline in cases of kidnapping besides communal and caste harmony during the NDA rule have made Bihar a preferred destination for investors,” he said.
Achievements
*A joint report of the World Bank and International Finance Corporation had appreciated the condition of Bihar for investment.
*All the 209 private investment proposals have been sanctioned. Of those, 22 were implemented and 74 in advanced stage of implementation involving Rs 1,033 crore.
* Government has done concrete efforts to make Bihar as a developed state by 2015 by ensuring signification progress in the fields of agriculture, health, rural development, education and tourism.
*The development measures taken by the government had also been appreciated by the Centre such as 50 per cent reservation for women in pacnahayats and urban bodies, besides appointment of ex-servicemen as special auxiliary police, among others.
*State government had taken a number of steps to weed out corruption. The number of registration of anti-corruption cases under Nitish rule had increased substantially.
Chargesheets had already been submitted against 595 gazetted officers, 632 non-gazetted public servants and 302 other persons from 2006 to September 2009.
