Bihar Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav (second from right) inaugurated a workshop on "Decline in child sex ratio" in Patna on November 25, 2009.Speaking on the occasion Yadav said the state government had ordered surprise insepctions of ultrasound clinics and imaging centres to stop female foeticide. The government had also asked the district health authorities to take punitive action against the ultrasound clinics, who violated the provisions of the Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act 2008.
