Mixed response to CPI-ML Bihar bandh

Hundreds of CPI-ML (Liberation) activists took out rally in Patna on November 24, 2009 in response to their party’s dawn to dusk Bihar bandh call.
Around 525 bandh supporters, including state CPI-ML secretary Nand Kishore Prasad, politburo member Ramjatan Sharma and MLA Rameshwar Prasad, were taken into custody from various places, including Patna while trying to enforce the call.
However, police released them in the evening.

The bandh called by the CPI(ML) to protest the alleged failure of the state government evoked mixed response and passed off peacefully barring some stray incidents of road and rail blockade. No untoward incident was reported during the bandh from anywhere in the state, police said.
