The WorldLeish 6 Congress Organising Committee, which
selected Dr Tahkaur, who is renowned physician, for this coveted World Health Organisation (WHO) award,
gave away the award in its 6th world congress in Toledo .
Dr Thakur, a former union minister, also addressed the
conference on Leishmaniasis and his research papers on Kala-azar.
Meanwhile, BJP state working committee member Sanjeev Kumar
Mishra congratulated Dr Thakur for his feat.
He said Dr Thakur was the first Indian to receive the WHO
lifetime achievement award.
